Truck Weigh Scale Automation

We recently delivered a comprehensive modernization project for a long-standing and highly valued customer, aimed at resolving critical performance issues within their existing weighbridge operation. The previous system achieved only a 20% successful read rate, resulting in operational inefficiencies and unreliable data. To overcome this, we implemented a fully integrated weighing solution that now delivers 100% successful reads and significantly strengthens process reliability.

Our solution is tightly integrated with the customer’s ERP platform, enabling automatic pre-loading of expected deliveries from multiple distribution locations. At both the inbound and outbound sides of the scale, we deployed intuitive HMIs equipped with barcode scanning for ticket validation and state-of-the-art radar sensors to guarantee accurate truck positioning. Once the vehicle is detected and correctly aligned, the system captures the weight, assigns it to the corresponding delivery, and transmits it directly to the ERP. For outbound movements, a delivery weight is also calculated and automatically emailed to the delivery company to streamline logistics communication.

To enhance monitoring and operational control, we incorporated a SCADA platform that allows remote supervision, diagnostics, and management of the entire weighing process. A locally embedded camera provides real-time visual oversight, ensuring full transparency, improved safety, and rapid issue identification.
